DuVilla, CPA - Director Chris DuVilla established DuVilla and Company, LLC in September 2004 after spending several years gaining invaluable technical experience through supervisory and managerial roles with local CPA firms in the Wilmington, Delaware area.  Chris holds a bachelors degree in accounting from Goldey-Beacom College and is an adjunct instructor of accounting for a local college.  He previously was an instructor for a review course designed to prepare candidates for the national uniform CPA exam. Having vast experience in tax compliance and planning for individuals and small businesses, Chris has considerable experience in providing accounting and auditing services to construction contractors, professional service firms and non-profit organizations. Prior to establishing our firm, Chris was responsible for providing those types of services to businesses and non-profit organizations with annual revenues of less than $100,000 and in excess of $100 million.  Chris's commitment to our profession and to the business community is evidenced by his involvement with the Delaware Society of Certified Public Accountants, for which he has served as Chairman of the Professional Standards Committee, the Delaware Contractors Association and Associated Builders and Contractors of Delaware, for which he has served on various committees. Chris is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Delaware Society of Certified Public Accountants. He resides in Newark, DE with his wife, Shannon, and their three daughters. Michael J. Alvini, CPA/PFS, CFP®, CTFA Michael Alvini joined DuVilla and Company, LLC in January 2006. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Alvini spent several years at both a well-known local accounting firm as well as a leading Delaware trust company developing expertise in the areas of income tax planning and compliance (individual, corporate, and estates & trusts), estate & gift tax planning and compliance, personal financial planning, and the use of Delaware trusts to achieve several asset protection, estate planning, and retirement planning goals. Mike holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Wilmington College. In addition, Mike is a Certified Public Accountant (licensed to practice in Delaware), a Certified Financial Planner™ Practitioner, an AICPA accredited Personal Financial Specialist, as well as a Certified Trust and Financial Advisor (accredited by the Institute of Certified Bankers). Mike is also a graduate of the Southeastern Trust School of Campbell University and the ABA accredited National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University. During his short but distinguished career, Mike has spoken on topics including estate planning, taxation, and the use of Delaware Trusts for several organizations, including Lorman Educational Services (approved speaker) and the Society of Financial Services Professionals. Mike is also a past and present member of several organizations, including the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Delaware Society of Certified Public Accountants, the Financial Planning Association, and the Institute of Certified Bankers. He currently resides in Newark, Delaware
